This humble space would like to take a moment to say a few quick words on recent events. The policy changes in our country over the last week have been a complete travesty including, but not limited to, the attempted stifling of government agencies, border walls, and the ban on incoming refugees. Suffice to say I find this an affront to civil liberties and common decency.
A couple of weeks ago, we were fortunate to play a show as a benefit for the ACLU that was thoughtfully organized by our friends The Moon and You. Given what has happened over the last few days, and likely over the foreseeable future, organizations like the ACLU and others will be vital in making sure the marginalized (and everyone else) in this country are kept safe and on level footing. Therefore, I’d simply like to encourage everyone to get involved in someway helping move things in a positive direction, be it donating to an organization of your choice, volunteering, or just engaging in some good old fashioned conversation with those around you.
Thanks for caring and we’ll see you soon.
Gabe Gets and Runaway Clothes, who has provided the artwork on both albums, are throwing a release party for their spring line. Jordan and I are proud to provide jams and jokes for the day. 4/18 in Durham. Clothes, music, beer, sun. It’ll all be there.
Hope everybody is enduring winter and ready for some music. I just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that we just about have an album. We’re finalizing mixes this week and will have this thing mastered next week so I hope to have a new tune or two to share shortly. The title of the album is Signal Fires and we wait with baited breath as Gabe Gets of Runaway Clothes finishes album art and merch design
All this to say, the album release show is set for Saturday, March 7 at The Pinhook in Durham, North Carolina. Any of you that are near and able enough to make it, we’d love to see you. We’re going to get a full band together to rip through some of these new tunes then hang out and make merry afterwards. We also play in Charlotte, NC Feb 12 and Athens, GA Feb 28 in the lead up and will add many more soon.
The one piece of bad news is I will not have vinyl by March. As I have found out, there are only about 20 record pressing plants operating in the country and due to the vinyl boom of the last few years, a lot of big bands and artists are back to doing huge orders and all the estimates I’ve gotten range from a 12-18 week turnaround time. But no matter, only a cause for another celebration when they get here.
Thanks as always and let me know if you have any questions about your order or shows,
